LITURGICAL MINISTRY

Prepation for these ministries includes a diocesan training day, parish meetings biannually and on-going training and other formation opportunities.
Serve at Masses in English (Saturday - Sunday and weekday Masses + Saturday morning)

Lectors:
Proclaim the Word of God at Mass enabling the congregation to hear and understand the Sacred Scriptures. They bring the printed Word to life by their voice, their attitude and their physical bearing.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
Assist the presiding priest in distributing communion at Mass. They show the greatest respect for the Body and Blood of Christ present in the bread and wine by their demeanor, their attire and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread and wine.

Homebound Ministers:
Bring Communion to parishioners who are unable to participate in Sunday Mass because of age or infirmity.
If you are, or any parishioner you know of, is sick and/or homebound and would like to receive Holy Communion, call the rectory at (718) 429-2333 to arrange for a minister to visit.

Angels of Mercy/Los Angeles de Misericordia Ministry:
Volunteers are present at the funeral Masses celebrated at St. Joan of Arc
to be a prayerful support to the families of deceased parishioners.
